Hervé Renard recently spoke out about the 2025 Ballon d'Or. For the French coach, between Ousmane Dembélé and Achraf Hakimi, the Moroccan comes out on top.

The Ballon d'Or will be awarded in September. For football fans, two players are vying for the honor: Ousmane Dembélé and Lamine Yamal. But, as of now, it's tough to predict who will lift the trophy.

However, as with Rodri last year, a surprise can't be ruled out. That could well be Achraf Hakimi. Having delivered an exceptional season (11 goals and 16 assists across 55 matches in all competitions), he's among the frontrunners for the prize.

For Hervé Renard, who managed Morocco from 2016 to 2019 and coached PSG's right-back during that period, it would be entirely deserved for Hakimi to claim this accolade. "His development has been outstanding. From Dortmund to Inter Milan, then Paris Saint-Germain, he's only joined top clubs, which truly reflects his talent," the French tactician told 360 Sport.

He continued: "He's one of the best players in the world today. For me, he's the Ballon d'Or of this season—he's been exceptional, consistent, and decisive in every performance. Today, Achraf Hakimi is the best player on the continent. And considering he's only 26, he's far from done adding to his trophy cabinet."
