Tonight Lille OSC will be hoping to bounce back from a 4-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain over the weekend, when they travel to the Signal Iduna Park to face a Borussia Dortmund side that are in a good run of form.
There has been an uptick in results for the Bundesliga side since Nuri Sahin was fired from his role as head coach and replaced by Niko Kovač. The former player was axed after a run of four defeats in a row, but since then Dortmund have won five, drawn twice, and lost twice across all competitions.
The Yellow Wall have reason to cheer again, and that is something that some Lille players are relishing the chance to experience as Bafodé Diakité (24) explained to the press ahead of their Champions League Round of 16 clash.
“I like this kind of atmosphere,” the defender said, “We can only enjoy and make the most of it. I even think that we are more liberated in this kind of atmosphere.” Lille have made a habit this season of pulling out unexpected results in Europe, most notably when they defeated Real Madrid 1-0 at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
