Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain have emerged as possible destinations for Aymeric Laporte, with Manchester City ‘ready’ to sell the centre-back this summer.

The Spain international has started just 14 matches for Manchester City so far this season and was an unused substitute on Saturday, when the Blues battered Liverpool 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s side came from behind to emphatically beat Jurgen Klopp’s Reds; as Julian Alvarez, Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish all scored, extending City’s current winning streak to seven matches.

Laporte hasn’t started a Premier League match since a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest in February, and featured for the first time in a month against Burnley in the Emirates FA Cup prior to the recent international break.

Ruben Dias, John Stones and summer signing Manuel Akanji have all started ahead of the 28 year-old, while defender Nathan Ake has cemented his place at left-back in the absence of Joao Cancelo.

City signed Laporte for £57 million in 2018, with the centre-back having helped the Blues to four Premier League titles since moving from La Liga.

A lack of minutes for the central defender has reportedly led the Spain international to consider his future at the Etihad Stadium ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Manchester City are ‘ready’ to sell the defender this summer according to a report by 90min, with two European clubs offered the chance to sign Laporte.

Laporte, who has previously been linked with a move to Italy or a return to Spain, has reportedly been offered to both Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain.

Spurs and PSG are both expected to be in the market for a left-sided central defender and City themselves have been linked with RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, who could be looked at as a possible replacement.

The 20 year-old scored against City in the UEFA Champions League and is subject to interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea as well the Sky Blues.

City are set for a significant summer of business as Pep Guardiola prepares to refresh his squad after signing a new contract in November.

Change is likely to be afoot in midfield, with the futures of both Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva still uncertain and Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham amongst the replacements mooted.
