Those behind the scenes at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have this week been left nothing short of livid with developments on the transfer front.
This comes amid confirmation that a highly-regarded member of the club’s youth ranks has departed for arch rivals Real Madrid.
The player in question? Gabriel Suárez Castrelo.
Suárez Castrelo, for his part, is an 18-year-old midfielder, who has long been considered a potential star in the making in Spain’s capital.
The starlet has not taken to the pitch in a competitive setting since all the way back in December, however, owing to his refusal to pen an extension to his expiring Atléti terms.
And as alluded to above, this week, as much has cost the Rojiblancos dear.
This comes amid confirmation that Suárez Castrelo has signed in as a free agent with none other than Real Madrid.
As per a report from Diario AS:
‘The Spanish player, who will turn 19 next August, has signed with Real Madrid’s U19 A team, but could be linked with Real Madrid C or even Arbeloa’s Castilla.’
It is added that those in a position of power at the Metropolitano are ‘furious’ with the move.
