Atletico Madrid have submitted a €35 million offer to Chelsea for Renato Veiga, according to L’Equipe.
They are eyeing a move for Veiga, who is expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer in search of regular game time.
Veiga has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Los Colchoneros as negotiations with Chelsea continue. The Blues are holding out for a €40m package.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have also been linked with a move, but Atletico are currently at the front of the queue.
Veiga joined Chelsea from FC Basel last summer but spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan at Serie A giants Juventus, where he impressed.
Having completed five signings already this summer, Chelsea are now focused on parting ways with players deemed surplus to requirements, one of which is Veiga.
While centre-back remains his preferred position, the 21-year-old can also fill in at left-back, a position Atletico were looking to strengthen earlier this window with their pursuit of Theo Hernandez.
It is unclear if Atletico will give in to Chelsea’s demands, but both clubs have a fairly harmonious relationship, having conducted business for Joao Felix last summer.
If Veiga secures his preferred move to the Wanda Metropolitano, He will have the opportunity to establish himself as a key player in one of Europe’s leading sides.
