Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has returned to the UK, and his fitness is far from 100% ahead of the start of the new season.

Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908, report that the condition of Lookman is a concern. This due to the fact that he has been no-showing training to try and force a move to Inter Milan.

For more than a week, Ademola Lookman has been absent from training for Atalanta.

This as the Nigerian international looks to put pressure on his club to sell him to Inter.

The Nerazzurri have already made two unsuccessful bids to try and sign Lookman. Atalanta, however, have not wavered.

Therefore, Lookman has ratcheted up the pressure, first by publicly demanding a transfer, and then by no-showing training.

In the meantime, Lookman has been at a resort in Portugal according to reports.

However, the 27-year-old has now returned to the UK to be with his family.

However, given the lack of proper training sessions for the Nigerian, it would be hard to envision the player being 100% fit for the start of the new season.

Therefore, whether Lookman starts the campaign as an Atalanta player or an Inter player, he may need some time to get up to speed physically.

Accordingly, Sky reports, the player would likely hope to be back to his best for after the September international break.
