Atalanta are prepared to proceed with their pursuit of Milan and USMNT midfielder Yunus Musah regardless of developments, or a lack thereof, between Napoli and Dea midfielder Marco Brescianini.
The narrative had been that Atalanta would only attempt to sign Musah from Milan if Brescianini left Bergamo this summer.
However, as things stand, Napoli have not yet made any concrete attempts to sign Brescianini from Atalanta, as they are currently focused on other targets elsewhere. As Football Italia has reported, Napoli’s priority is to land deals for Eljif Elmas and Rasmus Hojlund instead.

Despite the lack of developments between Napoli and Brescianini, Atalanta have decided to proceed with a deal for Musah regardless.
It is understood that La Dea are prepared to offer a fee of €25m with bonuses included for the 22-year-old Rossoneri midfielder. Milan, meanwhile, will have the final say on the matter.
The USA international, who has not been included in Mauricio Pochettino’s latest squad, was an unused substitute for Milan’s first Serie A match of the 2025-26 season: A surprise 2-1 defeat against newly-promoted Cremonese.
