Aston Villa set to sign Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi on loan

Aston Villa have reached an agreement with Premier League rivals Chelsea over a loan move for France international centre-back Axel Disasi (26), according to The Telegraph’s Matt Law. Villa were competing with Tottenham Hotspur over the signing of Disasi, but the former AS Monaco centre-back turned down the chance to join Ange Postecoglou’s side in favor of a move to Villa Park. The outlet understands that Disasi is en route to Birmingham

Disasi had been hopeful of leaving Chelsea before the end of the transfer window. The centre-back has been a captain for the club during their UEFA Europa Conference League campaign but has struggled for minutes outside of this competition, and has made only six appearances in the Premier League. The France international arrived in Chelsea from AS Monaco during the 2023 summer transfer window for a €45 million fee.
