As the summer transfer window edges toward its final days, Hector Fort has emerged as a name worth watching. The 19-year-old right-back, once considered among the brightest Barcelona prospects, appears to be on the fringes of Hansi Flick’s plans, casting doubt over his immediate future at the club.
Recent reports have already linked Fort with several potential suitors, though no deal has yet been agreed. Now, journalist Matteo Moretto has exclusively revealed that Aston Villa have joined the list of interested clubs, having recently made an enquiry about the youngster’s availability.
While Fort remains at Barcelona for now, much like other exit-bound players such as Oriol Romeu and Inaki Pena, he is still expected to leave the club before the summer window closes. Villa’s interest could prove intriguing, but the situation should become clearer in the coming days.

Ideally, Barcelona would like to send Fort on loan, with an option to buy, ensuring he gains regular minutes away from the bench. With Jules Kounde firmly established as a guaranteed starter and the emergence of Eric Garcia as a more than capable backup, his opportunities have further diminished.
A temporary move is seen as the best path for his development. With just over two weeks left in the transfer window, both the club and the €10 million-rated Spaniard must act swiftly to finalise a solution that serves his growth and Barça’s long-term plans.
