Gunners head into huge game with concerns over raft of key players

Arsenal are sweating on the fitness of a number of players ahead of Sunday’s Premier League title showdown with Liverpool.

The Gunners will definitely be without William Saliba, who is suspended after his red card at Bournemouth last week.

Kieran Tierney (hamstring), Martin Odegaard (ankle) and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all expected to miss out, too.

Arsenal have more optimism that Bukayo Saka could be fit as he aims to recover from a hamstring issue.

The winger injured his hamstring when England lost to Greece earlier this month and he has not played since.

Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori are also doubts for Sunday’s game with the League leaders at Emirates Stadium.

Timber has not played since the start of this month, when Arsenal beat Paris Saint-Germain, due to a muscle issue.

Calafiori was forced off during Arsenal’s win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday after awkwardly twisting his knee.

If the pair are out, it will give Mikel Arteta a selection headache in defence given he is already having to cope without Saliba.

Ben White may be forced to play in the heart of defence alongside Gabriel, with Thomas Partey dropping into right-back.

On the other flank, Arteta has three left-backs to choose from in Jakub Kiwior, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
