Arsenal take London derby spoils

Scorers: Russo 2', Maanum 22', Blackstenius 66'

Arsenal claimed the north London derby spoils with a 3-0 dismantling of Tottenham.

The visitors took an early lead as Alessia Russo punished slack defending inside just 63 seconds at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Frida Maanum doubled the Gunners' advantage 20 minutes later by placing a shot inside the penalty area after exposing further backline frailties.

A third followed midway through the second half as substitute Stina Blackstenius latched onto Mariona Caldentey's one-two before firing home.

Renée Slegers' side are up to third while the Lilywhites remain seventh.

Kirkby settles Amex thriller

Scorers: McLauchlan 29', Seike 60', Kirby 82'; Gorry 64', 69'

Brighton denied West Ham's second-half comeback with a late 3-2 win.

Rachel McLauchlan opened her account for the hosts shortly before the half-hour mark with a low curled finish from Fran Kirby's flick-on.

The Seagulls' defender helped double their lead after the interval by threading through Kiko Seike for a bobbling effort to beat Kinga Szernik.

Rehanne Skinner's side soon struck back courtesy of Katrina Gorry firing a shot across the face of goal to reduce the deficit.

The Hammers' captain levelled things up by repeating the feat just a matter of minutes later by rifling a long-range effort beyond Sophie Baggaley.

But Brighton retook the lead through Kirkby's drilled effort clipping the inside of the post after being teed up by Seike.

They move up to third in the WSL table while West Ham are still two points clear of the relegation zone in ninth.
