Arsenal have suffered a fresh injury blow ahead of their Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium next weekend.
The Gunners have had a tough start to the campaign, picking up only 19 points from their opening 11 games in the English top flight.
The club are already nine points behind leaders Liverpool and have no room for error in the coming months if they want to stay in the title race.
Ahead of the restart, the Gunners have suffered a huge blow with Leandro Trossard picking up an injury.
The 29-year-old was substituted in the 37th minute of Belgium’s Nations League game against Israel.
The £29 million-rated star had a good start to the campaign for the Gunners. He scored crucial goals in the victories over Aston Villa and Leicester City.
However, his form has dipped significantly since then. He was disappointing after the last international break and was dropped to the bench against Chelsea.
Martin Odegaard’s return paved the way for the decision, but the Belgium international continues to remain a key contributor in attack for the Gunners.
Trossard has been fantastic as a substitute for the club. He has developed his reputation as a super-sub with his ability to influence games in cameo roles.
With a hectic festive schedule coming up, Trossard’s absence would be a big blow for Arsenal.
Ethan Nwaneri and Raheem Sterling will have to step up in the coming weeks if Trossard is sidelined.
