Arsenal are interested in Marcus Rashford but a move to North London is highly unlikely due to the club’s extreme demands.
Rashford’s days in Manchester appear numbered. Ruben Amorim dropped the United superstar from his matchday squad in four consecutive games before naming him in his side against Newcastle United.
The Red Devils found themselves trailing by two goals after 20 minutes against the Magpies and still, Rashford failed to get any minutes and remained an unused substitute.
The Portuguese tactician’s decision underlines just how difficult the situation has become for the 27-year-old.
According to Football Transfers, the United hierarchy are “eager to facilitate his exit from the club as soon as possible.” However, it is not going to be easy for the Mancunians to part ways with their academy product this month.
Recently, the Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are interested in the Englishman but are reluctant to make a move due to his lucrative contract at Old Trafford.
Football Transfers claim Arsenal are willing to sign Rashford in the winter transfer window in a permanent deal but they would only move if their conditions are met.
Firstly, they want Raheem Sterling to return to Chelsea to make space for Rashford.
More importantly, the Gunners have no desire to spend more than €30million (£25m) for the United star, who scored 30 goals across all competitions during the 2022/23 season.
At this point, he would be “nothing more than a squad player” at the Emirates and he would have to accept the role if he wants Mikel Arteta to hand him an escape route out of his boyhood club.
Interestingly, Amorim continues to suggest he wants Rashford to fight for his place and succeed at United.
Considering his wages and stature, Old Trafford still appears to be the best place for him to make headlines at the highest level.
