PSG could be headed for a transfer showdown with Arsenal, AC Milan, Juventus, and Real Madrid over one of Spain’s most promising young defenders, Valencia’s Cristian Mosquera. But for now, it’s Arsenal who are in front, having already agreed to personal terms with the player.

PSG may have boasted one of Ligue 1’s top defenses last season, but there are signs of wear. Lucas Hernandez is back on the pitch but still working his way back from a serious injury. Marquinhos remains a key figure, but he’s not quite the force he once was.

Presnel Kimpembe continues to play an important role behind the scenes, yet questions persist about his long-term availability. Luis Enrique has high hopes for Lucas Beraldo, though the Brazilian is still viewed more as a rotational option than a full-time starter.

A previous report from Fabrizio Romano revealed that Arsenal had already agreed to personal terms with Mosquera. After Valencia turned down an opening bid of €14 million, the Gunners are preparing a new offer worth over €20 million as talks continue.

Fichajes reports that while Valencia have stood firm and turned down Arsenal’s initial offer, talks are still ongoing. The defender is open to a move to the Premier League, which could help push the deal forward if Arsenal come back with an improved bid.

This month, CaughtOffside reported that Cristhian Mosquera has turned down a contract extension from Valencia, signaling his desire to take the next step in his career with a move to the Premier League—specifically to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

Arsenal’s offer is said to include a much higher salary than Valencia’s €3 million-per-year proposal, along with the opportunity to play in the Champions League and compete for major honors.

According to a report from Marca, Real Madrid are already scouting potential free agents for next summer, with both Mosquera and Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly on their radar.

Meanwhile, Foot Mercato noted that PSG are also interested in Mosquera as they look to inject more youth into their central defense. A regular starter for Valencia, the young defender could be sold this summer to help ease the club’s financial situation.
