Arsenal needs to lower asking price to facilitate midfielders transfer

Fabio Vieira is expected to leave Arsenal again this summer following his loan spell at FC Porto during the previous season.

The Portuguese club benefited from Vieira’s contributions throughout the campaign, with the midfielder playing a key role in their setup. Despite his impact, Porto were unable to make the move permanent due to financial constraints. The cost of a full transfer ultimately prevented them from retaining his services, and Vieira has now returned to Arsenal as a result.

Since joining the Gunners, Vieira has struggled to establish himself as a regular first-team player. Limited game time led to the decision to send him on loan, and while he performed well at Porto, the pathway to regular appearances at Arsenal remains unclear.

Midfield Reinforcements Increase Competition

Arsenal have strengthened their midfield significantly this summer, further reducing Vieira’s chances of securing meaningful minutes. With increased depth and competition in the centre of the pitch, opportunities are expected to be limited for the Portuguese midfielder, and he is reportedly open to securing a move away from the club in search of more consistent playing time.

Parma have shown concrete interest in acquiring Vieira, with manager Carlos Cuesta reportedly eager to work with the player at the Italian club. Vieira is said to be open to the move, viewing it as a chance to relaunch his career in a more suitable environment.

Transfer Fee Remains an Obstacle

One major hurdle remains the transfer fee. Arsenal are reportedly asking for 20 million euros to part with Vieira, a figure that exceeds Parma’s current valuation. According to Gazzetta di Parma, the Italian side hopes that Arsenal will reconsider and lower their asking price, making a deal more feasible in the coming weeks.

Parma are not in a rush to finalise the move and appear willing to wait in the hope that negotiations will move in their favour. Meanwhile, Vieira remains outside of Arsenal’s immediate plans, and both the player and the club would benefit from finding a resolution that allows him to move on permanently this summer.
