Arsenal are reportedly close to completing a deal to sign Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori.

Discussions have been ongoing with the Italian club and Sky Sports say they are now close to agreeing a deal in principle, with discussions continuing over a payment structure and clauses.

Fabrizio Romano, meanwhile, claims a deal worth €40m plus €5m in add-ons and a sell-on clause has been agreed.

He adds that Calafiori’s former club Basel and Bologna need to agree over the 50% sell-on payment terms following his transfer to Italy before the deal can be completed, with personal terms not expected to be a problem.

But the Gunners look set to lose young prospect Chido Obi Martin after his deal expired despite the club wanting to keep the striker, with Manchester United now exploring a deal.

Elsewhere, Brentford boss Thomas Frank has told Sky Sports that Ivan Toney will be allowed to leave the club this summer for the “right bid”.

Toney has only one year left remaining on his current deal and Frank said: “You never know. He’s a Brentford player and I would love him to stay. It would give me a very positive challenge.

“He’s enjoying his time off and I’m happy, if he’s here with us I’ll be more than happy. A 20-goal goalscorer, there’s two things in that. It’s very good to have that in your team, and it makes him expensive.

“We’ve said before, I want to keep all my players, besides maybe five or six clubs in the world we’re a selling club – and if there’s the right bid which comes in, fine.”

“It remains to be seen whether De Ligt will come. I know Matthijs well and I will not deny that,” he told AD Sportwereld.

United are also willing to let £86m man Antony leave the club on loan this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Jose Mourinho wants to take Man City midfielder Mateo Kovacic to Turkey to join his Fenerbahce side, according to Turkish news organisation Fotomac.

Calciomercato claim Napoli boss Antonio Conte wants a reunion with Tottenham man Dejan Kulusevski.

aND Sky Sports say Napoli are currently in talks over a deal for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, with the Blues not interested in a third consecutive loan deal for the striker and will only let him leave permanently.
