In London, the tension between rival clubs never lets up. Arsenal and Chelsea cross paths once again, this time with a specific interest that could hog the headlines in the summer transfer market. The Gunners are keeping a close eye on Noni Madueke, a young winger with spark, talent and potential.
The news, broken by Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel, suggests that Arsenal have already agreed terms with the player. Meanwhile, in parallel, their radar continues to point to Eberechi Eze, but it seems that the Madueke deal is progressing more steadily. The Emirates is preparing for a big move.

The Madueke deal is not straightforward. Fabrizio Romano said that Arsenal plan to make an offer to Chelsea ‘at any moment’, although the two clubs are still far from agreeing on how much the 23-year-old is worth. Chelsea are asking for more than Arsenal are willing to put on the table, but the north Londoners are confident they can reach a middle ground. According to Romano, they already have a five-year contract with Madueke, with salary and commissions agreed. The tricky part is that Stamford Bridge and Emirates must agree on the right figure. The rest seems to be tied up.
Romano said: “Arsenal are also preparing an opening bid for Noni Madueke. Arsenal are ready to make a proposal to Chelsea for Noni Madueke at the moment. My understanding is that the valuation between the two clubs is quite different. As I told you, still no club contact yet, but Arsenal are set to make a first bid. So any moment, this proposal can arrive. My understanding is that those at Arsenal value the player at some money, and for Chelsea is quite different. So there is still something to understand between the two clubs, and let’s see how these conversations will go. I can confirm what I told you with an exclusive update yesterday that Arsenal have an agreement with Noni Madueke on the contract. It’s a five-year contract. I can add this detail for Madueke. The salary is okay. The commission is okay. Everything is okay for the people involved in the deal for the player for Arsenal. Now the most important part is club-to-club. And so let’s see how this conversation will go.”
We believe Chelsea would do well to open up to negotiation and close this transfer with Arsenal without prolonging unnecessary tensions. Madueke is talented, but his place in the Blues’ squad is not so clear with so many wingers on the payroll. Freeing up space and adding a good sum of money would give room to strengthen areas where Enzo Maresca needs depth and quality. Furthermore, keeping a player who is unhappy or not getting playing time can become a bigger problem.
Arsenal, for their part, gain a young attacker who fits in with Arteta’s idea of refreshing the wings. If Chelsea take an unyielding stance, they run the risk of devaluing a player who could excite its fans in another environment. Rivalry always is a factor, but sometimes business between neighbours serves to breathe new life into two projects at once. Madueke needs playing time, confidence and a clear role. Chelsea need healthy finances and useful players. They should sit down, set a reasonable price and give the green light to a transfer that, in the end, could benefit everyone.
