Five months after his hamstring injury with Scotland back in June, Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney could be seen taking part in a training session with his Gunners teammates this week.
The left-back featured briefly in Arsenal’s latest training video, which was the first sighting of the player with a ball at his feet since Euro 2024.
Tierney initially started running on grass in early September, but he appeared to suffer a setback after that.
Mikel Arteta confirmed in late October that the player had gone through a period where he was still struggling, before confirming he’s now close to a return.

“I think he’s quite close,” Arteta said on October 29th. “He’s looking really good. I think he’s over the period where he was still struggling, so he looks really sharp out there.
“He hasn’t trained with the team yet but hopefully he can do that in the next week or two.”
A little over two weeks later, and it appears Tierney has taken that step to rejoin group training.

Scottish outlet Daily Record have suggested that the next month or two may represent somewhat of an audition for Tierney, amid links with a January transfer.
Charles Watts recently reported that Arsenal had planned to sell or loan Tierney in the summer, and they likely would have if not for his injury.
Even once he’s fully fit, the expectation is that Tierney won’t be central to Arteta’s plans, but you never know how things might change once he makes his comeback.
