Manchester United have found a late equaliser in the FA Cup quarter final against Liverpool from the unlikeliest of sources.
The Red Devils were trailing late on and seemingly heading out of the competition.
Step forward, Antony. The £86m signing has flattered to deceive since his arrival at the club in Erik ten Hag’s first season, but was thrown on by the United boss as much in hope as expectation, with his side chasing a goal.
And the Brazilian duly delivered.
Picking the ball up inside the Liverpool box, he wriggled free of several Liverpool players before finding a right-footed shot into the bottom corner of Kelleher’s net, and seemingly sending the tie to extra-time.
It was just his second goal of the campaign, and the first goal that he has scored for the club with his right foot.
