Antoine Makoumbou on the radar of two top clubs
Despite his contract with Cagliari running until June 2026, Antoine Makoumbou could be on the move this summer. The Congolese defensive midfielder has caught the attention of several European clubs, including Turkey’s Samsunspor and Germany’s Schalke 04, according to exclusive reports from Africafoot.
Makoumbou enjoyed a strong season, making 34 appearances and scoring 3 goals, establishing himself as a key player for Cagliari. His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, and the Italian club is now open to cashing in on a potential transfer.
Our sources have revealed new developments in the transfer of Congolese star Antoine Makombo, Cagliari's midfielder, as European and Eastern clubs have entered the race to sign him.
In addition to interest from Germany's Schalke 04 and Turkey's Samsunspor, who have already made official offers to Cagliari's management, Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli have entered the line after intensive contacts with the player's surroundings in recent days.
The Cagliari management hopes to make between €6-8 million from the sale of Macombo, who has become the centre of attention of many clubs after his outstanding performance this season, in which he participated in 34 matches and scored 3 goals, proving that he is a key element of the team.
Barring any surprises, it looks like Macombo's journey with Cagliari may be coming to an end, as he is expected to have a new experience outside of Serie A starting next season.
