Charleroi have announced the signing of forward Antoine Colassin from Beerschot. The former Anderlecht man signs a deal until 2028 with the Zebras, a club he knows well having started out in the academy before moving to Anderlecht as a youngster. Charleroi have been looking to bring in more goals following the departure of Daan Heymans to Genk during the summer transfer window.

Colassin never lived up to his potential at Anderlecht and it looked like his career was stagnating. The 24-year-old had only played 12 games in four years for the Anderlecht first team going into last summer, with three goals scored. During the 2022/2023 season he had been loaned across the border to Eredivisie side SC Heerenveen, but only managed three goals in 26 games. He finally left Anderlecht last summer to sign for then newly promoted Beerschot. Despite the sides struggles, Colassin impressed with six goals and five assists in 28 games. His decision to join Beerschot and help their relegation scrap has certainly paid off, as it is unlikely that a move to Charleroi would have been on the cards last summer.
