Alexander Isak dominated the build up to the Premier League clash between Newcastle and Liverpool, but it's his replacement up top for the Magpies who's got the headlines now, and for all the wrong reasons.
Anthony Gordon had the Magpies' best openings prior to Ryan Gravenberch's opener completely against the run of play, and his frustrations were fully on show when he needlessly chopped down Virgil van Dijk.
He got most of the Liverpool captain's leg, and absolutely none of the ball, leading to a clear red card after a quick VAR check.
Having failed to beat the Reds in the Premier League since December 2015, tonight felt like a great opportunity to both end that drought and put one over Isak's suitors.
Instead, it's looking like a painful night with a former Everton player at the heart of their issues.
