Manchester City Women are close to hiring Denmark boss Andrée Jeglertz as the club's next manager.

The Citizens began the 2024/25 campaign with Gareth Taylor in charge but following disappointing league form and a very public falling out with player Chloe Kelly the manager was sacked in March.

City brought back Nick Cushing to take over until the of the season and with the interim boss reportedly not considered for the permanent job, the Manchester side has turned its attention to Andrée Jeglertz according to Tom Garry of The Guardian.

The 53-year-old has plenty of experience in women's football having led Swedish side Umeå to European glory in 2004 and also having spells in charge of the Finland national team and Linköping.

Jeglertz will have a tough job should he take over at City as expected with the club looking to return to the Champions League and challenging Chelsea once again.
