Real Madrid’s injury woes in midfield were further compounded as Brahim Diaz picked up a fresh knock, which may keep him out on the sidelines for a considerable period.

Reports suggest Brahim could be out for three months, missing up to 19 competitive matches for Los Blancos.

Brahim’s absence further limits the options Carlo Ancelotti has in the creative department, especially with Jude Bellingham and Dani Ceballos also nursing from injuries.

Rodrygo, Endrick to gain favour?

A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered insights into Ancelotti’s plan ahead, following the injury of Brahim.

The report suggests Rodrygo may have more weight in attack now that another creative midfielder is unavailable.

Brahim used to directly replace Rodrygo in the lineup up until now. But the Brazilian could now operate in a more balanced manner, possibly drifting in-field to offer more creative essence in the middle third of the pitch.

The report adds that even Endrick could enjoy more favour in the starting eleven, due to the absence of Brahim Diaz. This could prove to be an exciting opportunity for the young Brazilian, who is looking to make a name for himself in his first season at Santiago Bernabeu.

Tactical changes in the formation

As per the report, Carlo Ancelotti could possibly switch to a 4-4-2 lineup once Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni return to action.

This might not bode well for Endrick or Rodrygo, as both Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. will continue leading the Real Madrid frontline.

Another potential beneficiary could be Arda Guler, who made a solid impression in the recent win over Real Sociedad.

At the end of the day, though, the picture will be a lot clearer once Real Madrid take on Stuttgart, in the opening match of the new Champions League season this midweek.
