The future of Carlo Ancelotti has been a constant talking point within the Real Madrid camp throughout the season so far.
With the idea of hiring Xabi Alonso next summer lurking in the background, there’s been this perennial pressure on Ancelotti to continue doing well in order to save his job.
A recent report from Jorge Picon has offered an update on the future of Ancelotti at Real Madrid, highlighting a few key points.
As per the report, Ancelotti is still happy at Real Madrid and still insists on continuing to coach Los Blancos, with his current contract at Santiago Bernabeu expiring in 2026.
Ancelotti believes that his work at Real Madrid is not over yet and that he still has some unfinished business. That said, the Italian does consider his second spell at the Bernabeu as a gift from Florentino Perez.

While Xabi Alonso does remain a key option for Real Madrid next summer, Ancelotti’s impact in the dressing room cannot be understated.
The Italian has already overcome the worst moment of the season, even though Real Madrid still have a long road ahead of themselves.
One factor which could work in favour of Ancelotti is that the Italian enjoys the support of some of the heavyweights in the Real Madrid dressing room.
Although the club are unlikely to cower to dressing room demands, their support from players will something Real Madrid may at least consider before taking a call on Ancelotti’s future.
Keeping that in mind, it is fair to say that this is too early to deduce Ancelotti’s future and a more conclusive decision can only be taken at the end of the season.
Real Madrid, for their part, will be surely expecting the club to at least bag a couple of trophies come May.
