Brentford have handed a fresh contract to dynamic youngster Yehor Yarmoliuk that will extend his stay in TW8 until 2031.

After securing new deals for fellow midfielders Christian Nørgaard and Mikkel Damsgaard, the Bees have acted swiftly to tie down the future of the promising 21-year-old, who enjoyed a breakthrough 2024/25 campaign.

Capped by Ukraine at senior level for the first time in March, Yarmoliuk has seen plenty more Premier League game time this season and notably impressed towards the end of the season, with Vitaly Janelt absent following surgery for an issue in the German's heel.

One of five Ukrainians currently in the English top flight (along with Illia Zabarnyi, Vitalii Mykolenko, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Mykhailo Mudryk), Yarmoliuk now has 66 games under his belt for the Bees in total - although he still awaits his first goal in a Brentford shirt!

However, his stats from last season certainly paint the picture of a player who is starting to blossom at Premier League level.

Among his team-mates who played over 1000+ league minutes last season, the former SC Dnipro-1 man actually had the best pass completion rate (88 per cent) of any Bees player and his obvious passing ability was underlined by the fact he finished Brentford's win over Ipswich earlier this month with an almost-perfect pass success rate (98 per cent).

What's more, the Brentford B graduate has also shown the confidence and technique to spray longer, more ambitious passes - only five players aged 21 or over pinging more successful long balls than Yarmoliuk (54) in the Premier League during 2024/25.

The poise and ability shown by Yarmoliuk this season are allied to a tenacious appetite for the more competitive side of the game, and he ranks highly among the Brentford squad across a range of more defensive statistics.

The aforementioned midfield duo of Nørgaard (2.3) and Damsgaard (2.2) were the only players to average more tackles per game than Yarmoliuk (1.6) in league action in 2024/25, and the youngster also weighed in with 31 clearances and 13 interceptions.

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank praised him after the home draw against Everton back in February, stating: "I'm very pleased with him and his development.

"He's covering so much ground in there, winning so many duels, and getting better and better on the ball in terms of playing quick enough."

That quote encapsulates the exciting Ukrainian's talent and progress to date.

Now, Brentford fans will no doubt be hoping that - with his Bees future secured - Yarmoliuk can kick on and elevate his game to an even higher level next season.
