One of the more prominent transfer stories surrounding Manchester City is the future of Savinho. The Brazilian international has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham. As Fabrizio Romano has reported on several occasions, the City board are currently blocking Savinho’s move to Spurs. Savinho is a player that Manchester City want to keep.
A new report indicates that there will not be any further developments on Savinho’s future until after this weekend’s match between City and Tottenham at the Etihad. That isn’t a surprise given that Savinho could potentially join one of Manchester City’s rivals if Spurs match City’s asking price for the Brazilian winger.
Rômulo Giacomin has reported that there will not be any further developments surrounding Savinho’s future until after this weekend’s match between Manchester City and Tottenham. Furthermore, Giacomin reports that Tottenham’s move for Savinho is not linked to their failed pursuit of Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze. It remains to be seen if City will engage in talks with Tottenham over Savinho next week.
If Manchester City are to sell Savinho to Tottenham, it was always going to occur after this weekend’s match. There was no chance that City would give the Brazilian international the opportunity to play against them. Not that it was a likely prospect anyway given that Savinho is currently injured. Pep Guardiola revealed last week that Savinho is currently sidelined for a couple weeks due to injury.
Next week now looms as a critical juncture in Savinho’s future. An answer as to whether or not he will be sold should become apparent then. As of right now it seems that Savinho will be a member of Pep Guardiola’s squad for the 25/26 season. But if Tottenham are willing to pay a premium to sign him that could all change next week.
