With Manchester United languishing in 14th position in the Premier League table, head coach Ruben Amorim needs reinforcements in January to help the team climb out of this predicament.

However, the club have little wriggle room with regards to Profit and Sustainability rules and cannot afford to go all gung-ho in January.

This is due to the summer transfer splurge orchestrated by former manager Erik ten Hag and the payoff paid to the Dutch boss upon his sacking coupled with the compensation paid to Sporting Lisbon for Amorim.

The only way the Red Devils can buy the players the head coach wants is if they can sell players in January and Casemiro is one name primed for an exit.

Casemiro on his way

The Peoples Person had previously relayed that Saudi Arabian clubs were eyeing the Brazilian who was ready to leave after a few difficult years in Manchester.

Now, TBR Football have claimed that Al-Nassr, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, are favourites for the former Real Madrid superstar’s signature and United are prepared to take a £30 million hit on their initial investment.

The Old Trafford outfit had signed the five-time Champions League winner in a deal worth £70 million and after a brilliant debut season, his form has dipped majorly and he has struggled under the Portuguese tactician.

“Casemiro is now open to the prospect of a move to Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Pro League showed interest in the Brazilian last summer but an appropriate offer did not arrive at Old Trafford.

“Now, it’s understood that the Pro League are once again in touch with Casemiro’s representatives with a view to putting together a deal for January.

“But the Brazilian may now get his move with Al-Nassr in particular showing a strong interest in the midfielder. Al-Nassr have just sold Seko Fofana back to France after he completed a move to Rennes, meaning there’s a spot to fill playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane.

United to take £30m hit on Casemiro’s sale

“And to that end, TBR understands that United are willing to take less than half the £60m they paid Real Madrid for Casemiro back in 2022.”

If United get earn anywhere close to £30 million, it would be seen as a coup considering the 32-year-old’s form and his current market value, which stands at close to £10 million as per Transfermarkt. In the process, United would also free up the wage bill considerably with the midfielder currently earning £350,000 a week.

United had panicked after two heavy defeats at the start of Ten Hag’s reign and paid over the odds for the Brazil international, a deal which was widely lambasted for the cost involved.

Now, if United can earn decent money from Casemiro’s sale, Amorim might just get his wish with regards to a new left wingback.

But a striker remains another priority and Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee will need to make way for the coach to get his hands on Viktor Gyokeres.
