The Associazione Italiana Milan Clubs (AIMC, Italian AC Milan Clubs Association) have announced that they will not protest during the derby against Inter.
The association have not been shy in voicing their disapproval at the way that they and other supporters have been treated by the ownership, both with regards to ticket prices and the changing distribution of them.
It has been protest after protest in the past few weeks from the AIMC (and also the Curva Sud, who will not travel to the Dinamo Zagreb game tonight) as they aim to make it clear that there must be structured dialogue between the owners and organised supporter groups, in their eyes.
As MilanNews report, the AIMC have announced a temporary ‘truce’ with regards to their protests against the hierarchy at Milan because of the magnitude of what a game like the Derby della Madonnina means.
The press release circulated reads: “The Italian Milan Club Association announces that, only on the occasion of the derby, the ‘Olympic truce’ will be triggered: the cheering will be guaranteed and the banners will be regularly displayed in the stands.
More Stories / The Match
“The derby is not just any match, it is the expression of the football passion of generations who have always fought to defend and support their colours; derbies write the history of the teams that compete in them and, whoever wins them, joins the Olympus of football. The derby is not played, it is lived.
“The decision of the truce, only for the derby, is the expression of our deep-rooted attachment to the red and black colours and is intended exclusively to interrupt the protest underway due to the very serious situation that has arisen following the recent decisions of the club that have distorted the operations and services provided to the Milan clubs, with the sole aim of supporting our team and countering the opposing fans in a match that, although it is a league match, will remain written in the history of our colours.
“This decision highlights our strong sense of responsibility and loyalty, in the hope of no longer having to defend ourselves from those who, instead, should help us support our wonderful red and black colours!”
