Manuel Garcia Quilon, the agent of Theo Hernandez, paid Milan a visit in a trying time for his client. He was benched and didn’t log a single minute for the first time this season against Genoa. He spoke to Sky.
“The choice is not up to him. You have to respect your teammates and the decisions by the coach. Rafael Leao didn’t start at some point as well.”
The representative explained the reason for his trip.
“I’ve come here to speak about some fiscal aspects of the contract of Theo Hernandez. We haven’t talked about the renewal yet. On the other hand, as we said and repeat, he wants to stay at Milan and sign a new deal.”
According to Marca, the Rossoneri haven’t offered him an extension at this stage nor they plan to do it in short order. His current contract expires in 2026. Quillon might have informed the team of the interest of other European sides.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic weighed in to DAZN on Sunday (via Calciomercato).
“It’s the same situation as Leao a few weeks ago. Theo Hernandez one of the best fullbacks in the world. We want him to be in top form, and he’ll surely be back at that level.”
Perhaps it’d be the right time to tender a renewal, as his requests can’t be too lofty given his recent performances. An agent coming in is rarely a coincidence. Still, it’s probably better for both parties to shelve the matter till rosier times so he can focus on getting back on track without further noise.
