In recent days, Robert Lewandowski has once again come up as a potential candidate for Saudi Arabia as they look to further enhance the league’s image this summer by bringing in one of Europe’s most familiar footballers.

There were even reports of Saudi Arabia offering a mega deal in order to lure Lewandowski away from Barcelona this summer.

However, in a recent interview with Fakt, Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, has ruled out any move to Saudi Arabia, at least in the immediate future.

“Clubs in Saudi Arabia are overflowing with players; they don’t know what to do with them. There are limits on the number of foreigners allowed, which limits their options. But Robert didn’t want to play there anyway,” he said.

Zahavi even went on to confirm that Lewandowski had a mega offer from Saudi Arabia last year as well, but did not opt to move to the Middle East.

“A year ago, he received a concrete offer. They offered him more than €100 million per season. Per season! But he preferred to fight for La Liga and the Champions League. And he almost achieved both goals,” he revealed.

The move certainly paid off as Lewandowski ended up becoming a part of Barcelona’s famous three-pronged attack alongside Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, which ruled Europe last season.

Although the Pole is not getting any younger, Barcelona continue to have faith in the veteran’s abilities to lead the frontline for yet another season.

Zahavi, for his part, admitted that Lewandowski is happy in Barcelona and wants to continue. “This is his place on earth, where he feels most comfortable,” he said.

Unfortunately, though, the Pole is heading into the new season with an injury and is expected to miss at least the first three games of the season.
