AC Milan are prepared to let Rafael Leao leave the club this summer for a fee in the region of €70m (£60m).
Leao has been linked with an exit from Milan after the club failed to secure European football for next season. The Rossoneri sold Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City earlier in the transfer window and are reportedly prepared to let Leao leave for the right fee.
Barcelona are reportedly considering an approach after missing out on the signing of Nico Williams. Williams this week signed a new 10-year deal at Athletic Club, ending speculation surrounding his future.
Barcelona want to sign a left-sided forward this summer and Spanish outlet SPORT are reporting that Leao is a potential option. The Catalan club also admire Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.
Chelsea are long-term admirers of Leao, though recently acquired Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund. Arsenal and Bayern Munich have also been linked, though former Bayern chief Uli Hoeneß has distanced the German champions from a move.
“Leão? No, no, no. Max Eberl (Bayern sporting director) told me he held talks, but they weren’t fruitful and it was never an advanced topic,” he told BR24Sport this week.
Leao joined Milan from Lille in 2019 and has since scored 70 goals in 260 appearances for the Rossoneri. He was named Serie A’s Most Valuable Player during the club’s title success in 2021/22 and has been incldued in the Team of the Season on three occasions.
The Portugal international scored 12 times last season despite a disappointing campaign at the San Siro.
