So much so that, Real Madrid are considering having Marin in the first-team squad next season under Carlo Ancelotti.

But there remain question marks about whether he would get minutes considering that Los Blancos already have Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba and Eder Militao, with the club also looking to add Leny Yoro.

Furthermore, even though reports suggest Nacho will leave, it is still not guaranteed either.

It has led to the club’s directors Antonio D’Ottavio and Geoffrey Moncada looking at possible targets, with Marin emerging as a contender.

Milan are understood to have watched the 21-year-old Real Madrid loanee in action for Alaves this season and have been impressed by what they have seen.

It is no secret that Real Madrid and AC Milan have a good working relationship, having worked on multiple deals in recent times like the loans for Brahim Diaz and Alex Jimenez.

However, whether Real Madrid are willing to let Marin leave next summer remains to be seen considering that their lack of depth at the centre-back position was exposed due to injuries this season.
