AC Milan are reportedly considering a move for experienced Argentine left-back Nicolas Tagliafico, according to Calciomercato.

The 32-year-old, whose contract expires on June 30, is expected to leave Lyon after their relegation to Ligue 2 due to financial difficulties.

Milan’s interest in Tagliafico comes amid a broader search for defensive reinforcements, particularly for the left-back position.

They want to replace Theo Hernandez, who is on the verge of joining Al-Hilal.

Tagliafico’s CV makes him an attractive candidate. Since joining Lyon from Ajax in 2022, he has been a stalwart for the French side.

His experience at the highest level, including winning the 2022 World Cup with Argentina, is an attractive proposition for Milan.

He averaged 2.4 tackles and 1.5 interceptions per game this season, contributing to five clean sheets in 22 Ligue 1 starts.

AS Roma and La Liga side Sevilla have reportedly made concrete approaches for Tagliafico, with the latter seeking a replacement for Marcos Acuna.

Tagliafico is also attracting interest from clubs in his home nation, but is believed to prefer remaining in Europe rather than returning to Argentina.

Milan are also monitoring targets for the right-back position after opting against a permanent move for Kyle Walker.

However, the immediate focus is on wrapping up a deal for Ardon Jashari, although negotiations with Club Brugge are yet to yield a positive result.
