Bournemouth are reportedly considering replacing Kepa Arrizabalaga with Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.

The Cherries signed the 30-year-old on loan from Chelsea last summer, and he’s been looking solid between the sticks, helping the club make an unlikely push towards European spots.

Nevertheless, the Spaniard’s loan stint will expire at the end of the campaign, therefore the club is already on the lookout for a new custodian for next season.

According to Turkish football journalist Ekrem Konur, Bournemouth have set their sights on Bayindir, as well as Aaron Ramsdale. The latter could become available as Southampton’s relegation appears to be a matter of time at this stage.

As for Bayindir, many believe it is past time for him to move to another club. The Turkiye international arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2023 after making a name for himself with Fenerbahce. However, he has been struggling for playing time ever since.

Despite Andre Onana’s recurring howlers, he continues to enjoy the support of Ruben Amorim who showed no signs of making a change in the goalkeepers’ pecking order any time soon. Hence, Bayindir has been reduced to a designated cup shot-stopper.

Nevertheless, the 26-year-old has made the most out of the opportunity handed to him in the FA Cup third round against Arsenal. His heroics allowed the Red Devils to prevail over the Gunners in the penalty shoutouts, and had already saved a spot-kick during the contest. Therefore, Mikel Arteta hailed his display as ‘absolutely outstanding’.

The Bursa native is running on a contract valid until the summer of 2027 with an option for another year, while Transfermarkt estimates his transfer value at circa £13 million.
