On Saturday, Cardiff City drew 0-0 with West Bromwich Albion to earn just one point and guarantee their relegation from the Championship. With 21st-placed Luton Town now five points ahead, there’s nothing Cardiff can do on the final day of the season to escape the bottom three.
Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is currently the caretaker manager of Cardiff City, taking on the job just eight days ago.
It was always going to be tough to produce the instant turnaround needed to secure safety, and despite pulling off a couple of draws in their last two games, Cardiff are now going down.

“I’m gutted,” Ramsey said. “I’m a fan as well and sad to see this club going down.
“The fans have had a difficult time this season and I really feel for them. I know how they’re feeling but also I want to say I’m proud of the last couple of performances.
“The level of effort the players have put in and the information they’ve taken on was evident.”

Ramsey started the season as a Cardiff player, rather than a coach, and he made 10 appearances for the side over the campaign.
But a few hamstring injuries have ensured the 34-year-old was unable to play a significant role on the pitch, and he’s had to settle for this backroom role instead.
The league campaign isn’t over yet, with Ramsey facing off against Jack Wilshere’s Norwich City side on the final day of the season. But with Cardiff relegated and Norwich unable to reach the play-offs, the two sides will just be playing for pride.
