Manchester City have several players out on loan throughout England and across Europe. One of those players is young midfielder Maximo Perrone. Perrone does appear to have the talent and intelligence to make it at the highest level. This season he has shown signs of that during his loan spell with Como. But in a recent interview, Perrone has spoken of his desire to stay at Como beyond this season. When you look at City’s first-team squad, you do get the sense that it could be the best move for both parties beyond this season.
Speaking with Calcioline Maximo Perrone wants to stay at Como beyond this season. But the young midfielder is unsure what the future holds for him. Speaking about his future he said: “There are agents, representatives, I don’t know anything. As far as I’m concerned, I want to stay here, grow and learn more with Como. I want to give a hand to my teammates, and I’m happy to stay with Cesc. I have an excellent relationship with him. I hope my future is here with Como.”
Although Maximo Perrone is a talented midfield prospect you do sense that his path to Pep Guardiola’s squad is a difficult one. With Nico having recently arrived at the Etihad and fit into Pep Guardiola’s squad like a glove that is one player standing in Perrone’s way. Rodri will have likely returned from his ACL injury by the time Perrone’s loan spell with Como ends. That’s just two of the players standing in the way of Perrone being a first-team player for Manchester City. There are also a host more.
Perhaps a summer move is the best thing for Maximo Perrone and Manchester City. Perrone can play more often and City can cash in on yet another talented young player. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen. But you do sense that it is a realistic scenario looking at the make up of the Manchester City squad and with the moves they may potentially make next summer.
