Scorer of a special goal to open the scoring in the victory against Stade Rennais (3-2), the playmaker trained at the Academy was named MVP of the match and appears in the top eleven of the matchday
He is constantly pushing the boundaries of talent! That is why this Saturday afternoon, Maghnes Akliouche decided to make an impression on the occasion of a visit from Stade Rennais to the Principality. It was therefore by striking a real masterpiece for the opening goal that the attacking midfielder formed at theAcademy helped lift his AS Monaco teammates to a crucial win (3-2).
I made this move instinctively, it just happened. The action happened very quickly. I can't tell you if I should have taken the right foot or the left. The ball is in the net, that's the most important thing. (...) I watched the images again, it's a nice goal, I'm happy. It's certainly the best of my little career. I hope there will be others.
We were indeed playing in the 15th minute, and it seemed time had stood still at the Stade Louis-II, at the moment when “Magic” Maghnes decides to get on the end of a cross from Vanderson with a sublime acrobatic finish (1-0)! Brice Samba could only accompany the ball into his net and see the damage: the Monaco number 11 has probably just scored the goal of the season in Ligue 1, before the eyes of his stunned teammates.
That’s what coach Adi Hütter suggested in the post-match press conference, even nicknaming his little prodigy “Zlatan” as he passed through the mixed zone. In short, the young player formed at La Diagonale wasn’t going to stop there, since he was also going to be provider for Aleksandr Golovin scoring the third Monaco goal (3-1, 56′)! It was a fine pass delivered at the right time, which completed an impressive performance.
Wow (smile)! I really said that. An incredible goal huh (in French)! We deserved to open the score at that moment, and I think it will probably be among the best goals in Ligue 1 this season! Everyone wants to see these kinds of goals.
With three dribbles, four shots, 12 touches in the opponent’s area and four key passes the French silver medalist would prove to be essential up front. But also very active in defense, with no less than 16 duels played (9 won), and two recoveries made. He was full of activity and had an involvement in two of the three goals of the evening, which therefore make him the natural MVP of the match.
With over 92% of the votes cast by fans on the AS Monaco App, he thus easily won his fifth man of the match trophy of the season. It was an award that was doubled by an 8 in the newspaper L’Équipe, which automatically places him in their top eleven of the 19th round. It was a great reward for the Monegasque maestro, scorer of undoubtedly the best goal of the season. Daghe Maghnes ! 🇲🇨
