‘A disgrace’ – Barcelona president Laporta fumes over refereeing decisions vs Getafe | OneFootball

Barcelona president Joan Laporta on Monday made use of the opportunity to make clear his frustration with the level of officiating in the club’s most recent outing.

Barcelona, of course, were back in action on Saturday, making the trip to the Estadio Coliseum for a La Liga meeting with Getafe.

In the midst of a concerning stretch of form in the league, the Blaugrana headed into proceedings in the knowledge that nothing but a three-point haul would suffice.

When all was said and done, though, Hansi Flick’s troops were forced to settle for a share of the spoils, in a 1-1 draw.

Adding further to the post-match frustrations on Barca’s part was the fact that, late in the action in Madrid, the visitors were denied a penalty for a clumsy challenge on Jules Koundé in the Getafe penalty area.

During an exchange with the media on Monday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of as much was put to the aforementioned Joan Laporta.

And Barcelona’s president was in no mood to pull punches in his response, telling El Chiringuito TV that:

“The refereeing in the Getafe game was a disgrace. They didn’t award a penalty to Koundé. It’s a scandal. It’s a scandal.”
