Kylian Mbappé’s (25) announcement that he will be leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season has been criticised by French manager Pascal Dupraz.

Speaking on the radio show Grandes Gueules du Sport, the former Dijon FCO and AS Saint-Étienne head coach was vociferous in his assessment of Mbappé’s goodbye video claiming that the forward had “managed the feat of making [him] sad twice this week.”

Dupraz alluded to the Champions League semi-final exit, where Mbappé’s performance against Borussia Dortmund was widely lamented. The manager continued this thought by criticising the forward for making his decision public on his social media calling it a “cold, tasteless announcement.”

Kylian Mbappé’s announcement ‘deserved a real press conference’

Dupraz states “It deserved a real press conference with the journalists, to respect them as he often did. They could have conveyed to us the emotions of Kylian Mbappé.” The manager was disappointed that this opportunity will be provided to the Spanish press, instead: “This will just be for Real Madrid. When he announces his signing, it will not be through his social media but with great fanfare. The journalists will ask him the questions they want.”

Dupraz further hit out at the Frenchman for his omission of the PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi in his list of thank yous to the club personnel. Dupraz believed that this mark of disrespect was not becoming of the player and made him look ungrateful, “[He] a billion in seven years, I am certain that the president has something to do with that. Forgetting him shows a lack of taste which is not up to his standards.”
