Southampton have a fine crop of young players coming through the ranks. So, we will run through the four most promising young Saints with great futures ahead.
Southampton have not had the best start to the season. They are rock bottom of the Premier League table. However, amid all the chaos, there is some positivity which the Saints must cling onto.
Above all else, their young players have rose to the occasion. Perhaps during moments where the senior players have lacked, young Saints have provided that cutting edge needed.
So, with that being said, here are four young Saints with incredible Southampton futures.
It is difficult to believe that Tyler Dibling is only 18 years old. Despite not being a sure starter for Southampton, he has often come onto the pitch and looked like one of the more senior players.
Dibling is often used from the bench. When Russell Martin requires more cutting edge and the cunning ability to take on defenders, Dibling is the go-to option.
It is hard to believe that Martin will continue using the 18-year-old from the bench. With every great performance Dibling puts in, he continues to etch away at the barrier between him and the starting lineup.
The Southampton defender has had a brilliant start to the Premier League season. In fact, he has played in all 11 of Southampton's opening Premier League games.
His hard work in the defence has been noted, as he was selected in the England squad for the November international break.
Harwood-Bellis is a player who clearly takes great inspiration from those mentors around him. Having come through the Man City academy and the future son-in-law to Roy Keane, it is in Harwood-Bellis' destiny to become a star player, if he isn't considered one already.
Mateus Fernandes was only signed in the summer transfer window but already, his presence has been felt. The Portuguese midfielder elevates the centre of the park for Southampton.
A tenacious midfielder who is capable in all three thirds of the pitch, Fernandes is only destined for great things. Russell Martin even joked that other clubs need to keep their hands off him, since he has every possibility to become a Southampton great.
The centrepiece in the Southampton attack, Cameron Archer has unsurprisingly made a brilliant start to the season.
A fine finisher of the ball, Cameron Archer is showing that he has qualities which can be of great benefit to Southampton. Without a doubt, there are flaws in his game but being his own harshest critic, he will be working hard in training to perfect those imperfections.
Either way, Southampton have a gem on their hands.
