POSITIVES

Third consecutive victory

Three wins on the bounce, what’s not to like about that?

And this third one coming against decent opposition, Forest having only lost once in the league before yesterday.

They might still be above us in the table but I doubt that’ll last.

Winning after going behind and trailing at the interval is impressive, a great performance all round.

Isak is definitely back

That’s four in four for our man from Solna, north of Stockholm.

I picked Alex out after the Arsenal game as my MOTM and although I wouldn’t necessarily give him that accolade yesterday, I still thought he was superb.

The Swede seemed to be struggling earlier in the season but he’s looking more like a version of the prolific striker we’ve become accustomed to seeing over the past couple of years, long may it continue.

The table’s looking better

Up to eighth and only a point off third.

I appreciate it’s very tight but our next dozen league games see us play opposition currently sitting above us on only one occasion.

After a less than auspicious start to this campaign and with that blip that saw us pick up just two points from a five game winless streak, Eddie now seems to have found a winning formula.

Our run of fixtures through to Christmas and into the new year provides us with a real opportunity to consolidate and kick on.

Can we not have this charlatan officiate ever again?

I’ve lost count of the incidents that seemingly go against us when this joker is on the park.

Yesterday, we had not one, but two probable reds for the assaults on Tino and Sean from the deplorable Ryan Yates, and yet this waste of space from Wythenshawe saw nothing.

Set-piece misery

Let’s face it, whilst no goal is a good goal to concede, that wasn’t a great way to fall behind.

First off, Willock’s foul on Elanga was unnecessary. Second, Murillo was left unopposed to direct his header home from Elanga’s dead ball.

Not another international break

This is the third one in three months and thankfully, we won’t have to endure another until the back end of March.

At one level, it’s great to see Newcastle United players plying their trade for their country, but there’s jeopardy in accumulating all those air miles, not to mention the pointless game time.

After limping off yesterday, I really hope that Anthony Gordon stays home to recuperate.
