Luton Town look as though they could be in for a busy summer in the transfer window.

Following their relegation from the Premier League to the Championship after just a single season in the top-flight, there is likely to be a turnover in the squad in the coming months.

Already, certain players are being linked with moves away from Kenilworth Road. It is already reported that Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign Ross Barkley from the Hatters.

Meanwhile, Elijah Adebayo, who scored ten goals in 27 league games during a somewhat injury-hit campaign, is also attracting attention from elsewhere.

The likes of Everton and Fenerbahce have been credited with an interest in the 26-year-old, who could be tempted by the opportunity to remain in top-flight football with one of those teams.

Indeed, a move to the aforementioned Turkish outfit would even give him the chance to play in the Champions League and compete for trophies under Jose Mourinho.

All of that could make it hard for Luton to retain the striker this summer, and there are others who they may face a battle to keep in the market.

So with that in mind, we've taken a look at two more players who could be set to depart Kenilworth Road over the course of the transfer window, right here.

Teden Mengi

Having only joined the club from Manchester United last summer, Teden Mengi enjoyed an impressive debut season with Luton Town.

The centre-back was a consistent presence in the Hatters' backline, and despite their relegation, did enough to attract attention from elsewhere in the Premier League ahead of the summer window.

Recent reports have claimed that Fulham and Crystal Palace are both interested in signing the 22-year-old, as they look to boost their own defensive options this summer.

With Tosin Adarabioyo departing Fulham, and Nathan Ferguson and James Tomkins both released by Palace, the pair could benefit from the addition of some extra depth at centre-back.

The financial windfall they still enjoy as Premier League clubs means this is a deal they may back themselves to be able to afford. Mengi meanwhile, could be tempted by a swift return to the Premier League, given he now knows he is more than capable of playing at that level.

All of that therefore could mean that it will prove hard for Luton to retain the services of the centre back into next season.

Alfie Doughty

Doughty is another Luton player who enjoyed a strong first season in the Premier League during the 2023/24 campaign.

The 24-year-old was a fairly consistent attacking threat for the Hatters in a left wing-back role. In total, he scored two goals and provided eight assists in 37 Premier League outings for Rob Edwards' side.

That has ensured that he too is attracting interest from clubs still playing in the top-flight of English football.

It is thought that Palace are monitoring Doughty as well, with Brentford also being credited with an interest in the former Charlton and Stoke man.

As a result, he is another who Luton may struggle to keep hold of, given there is a good chance that Doughty too will fancy his chances in the Premier League.

In this case, the Hatters do also have reliable cover they can turn to in that position, with Amari'i Bell due t return from injury, which may ease some pressure over the interest in Doughty.
