A total of 15 Manchester City players have been called up for international duty with their respective countries this month, it can now be confirmed.

Pep Guardiola’s squad enter the international break on a run of fine form sparking since their return from the previous bulk of national team commitments, finding themselves top of the Premier League by one point at this stage of the season.

Manchester City were however held to a dramatic 4-4 draw by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon, with Erling Haaland scoring twice in London alongside goals from Manuel Akanji and Rodri.

While the reigning Premier League champions did however have the chance to move three points clear at the top of the division, just a singular point separates themselves from Liverpool ahead of the two side’s meeting after the international break.

Manchester City will be hoping for significant developments on the recovery front over the course of the break, with three names having withdrawn from their call-ups due to injury problems prior to and during the draw with Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea side.

Ederson became the very latest to sustain a problem, as the Brazil international removed himself from commitments in South America due to an issue in his left foot suffered at Stamford Bridge over the weekend.

A total of three Manchester City first-team players withdrew from their original call-ups following the weekend.
