Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel has on Friday provided an insight into the latest on the personnel situation in his squad.

As much, of course, comes ahead of the German giants’ impending continental showdown with La Liga leaders Real Madrid.

Bayern and Real will lock horns in the first leg of their highly-anticipated Champions League semi-final tie at the Allianz Arena next Tuesday night.

In the buildup to the clash, the former have been forced to deal with a whole host of problems on the injury front.

The bulk of the issues come in the attacking third, where Bayern have of late been forced to make do without winger trio Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sané, and Kingsley Coman.

Speaking in a pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s Bundesliga meeting with Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, Thomas Tuchel was in turn asked for the latest on the fitness situation in his ranks.

Coman, for his part, is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

The news regarding German international Gnabry, though, was of an altogether more positive nature:

“There is no reason to lie and say that we only think about Eintracht. Serge Gnagry will play and score on Tuesday,” Tuchel assured.

Turning attentions towards attacking partner-in-crime Sané, Bayern’s headmaster continued:

“He’s just doing his first individual training session on the pitch,” meaning the former Manchester City man remains a major doubt to face Real Madrid.

Last up, Tuchel then revealed that defender Dayot Upamecano picked up a fitness issue in training on Friday:

“Upa rolled his ankle in training, he’s a doubt for tomorrow. We have to wait and see.”
