Many top European clubs, including Manchester United, may find themselves locking horns over different managers this summer.

INEOS remain tight-lipped about their formal stance on Erik ten Hag’s future at the club beyond the summer. However, the way the Red Devils are faring under the Dutch coach, it would not surprise many if he is allowed to exit Old Trafford at the conclusion of the campaign.

The issue, however, heading into the summer transfer window, is that there are not many quality options available for hiring.

Bayer Leverkusen legend Xabi Alonso and Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann have both decided to continue managing their respective sides and other elite managers are already tied to different sides.

As such, the likes of United, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and even Chelsea may end up fighting for a very limited number of suitable options.

In that regard, it appears United already have an upper hand over Bayern when it comes to Zinedine Zidane, who is perhaps the most attractive name on the market.

The Bavarian giants, who are set to part ways with Thomas Tuchel, are understood to be extremely keen on the prospect of appointing the former Real Madrid man as their next manager.

However, according to L’Équipe, a deal for Zidane to become Bayern’s next boss might not be as straightforward as the Bundesliga giants would want due to the presence of United.

It is claimed that the Frenchman respects the idea that Bayern would provide him with the chance to win titles immediately but still, he would prefer a move to United and is closely monitoring the situation at Old Trafford.

This development may be music to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s ears, as the INEOS chief reportedly “dreams of giving the reins of United to Zidane.”

According to Foot Mercato, Ratcliffe, who also owns French club Nice, will do everything to put the Mancunian outfit back at the top of English and European football.

In order to make this a reality, the billionaire wants to put the three-time Champions League winning manager at the wheel.

Earlier, there were reports that the move might not pan out due to Zidane’s inability to speak English. But he is learning currently which could be another positive indicator!
