From our ten goalscorers under the age of 23, to seven under-21 players and the youngest starting XI since 1986, here are some little-known facts from 2024/25.

Dino Toppmöller’s side is packed with gifted youngsters who performed impressively in the 2024/25 Bundesliga season. Here are ten stats that prove it:

1) Four…

… Eagles made their top-flight debuts this season: Nathaniel Brown, Igor Matanovic and Kaua Santos at the age of 21, as well as Can Uzun at 18.

2) Six…

… players scored their first Bundesliga goal in an Eintracht shirt: Jean-Mattéo Bahoya (19), Brown (21), Nnamdi Collins (21), Oscar Højlund (20), Matanovic (21) and Uzun (18).

3) Six…

… assists were contributed by Brown in his first season in the German top flight – the most of all players aged under 22.

4) Seven…

… Frankfurt boys got their first taste of European football in 2024/25: Bahoya (19), Ebu Bekir Is (16), Brown (21), Collins (20), Matanovic (21), Santos (21) and Uzun (18).

5) Ten...

… different goalscorers under 23 was by far the best figure in the league. Overall, 58 players in this age category found the net in 2024/25.

… of the 20 youngest starting line-ups across all 2024/25 Bundesliga matches came from Toppmöller and his coaching team.

7) 22 years and 60 days…

… is how old Hugo Ekitiké was when he scored twice in the DFB Cup first round at Braunschweig, becoming the youngest Eintracht player to hit a brace in the competition since Andreas Möller in November 1986 at Wattenscheid.

8) 23 years and 214 days…

… was the lowest average age of a Frankfurt starting XI this season, in the 4-0 defeat at Bayern Munich. The last time the Eagles fielded a younger team was in a 1-0 defeat at Hamburg on 26 April 1986 (23 years and 171 days).

9) 24.2 years…

… was the average age of all the players used in the Bundesliga, taking into account their playing time – a league high.

10) 25.9%…

… of Eintracht’s players were under 21 years old. That’s the joint biggest proportion with Borussia Dortmund, with both having seven out of 27 players used in this age group. This is also the highest figure in absolute terms.
