Women’s Super League teams Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal have learned their UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final opponents after the draw was made in Nyon, Switzerland.
The ties will see WSL champions Chelsea take on Manchester City, while Arsenal will play Real Madrid.
The winner of Arsenal’s match will take on Bayern Munich or Lyon, while the winner of Chelsea v Manchester City will face Wolfsburg or Barcelona in the semis, leaving open the possibility of a historic all-English final.
With three English teams in the quarter-finals, this marks the first time in the competition’s history that a single association has three teams in this stage.
The quarter-final ties will take place on 18/19 March for the first legs, with the return fixtures on 26/27 March.
The full draw is as follows:
Real Madrid vs. Arsenal
Manchester City vs. Chelsea
Wolfsburg vs. Barcelona
Bayern Munich vs. Lyon
The group runners-up, listed first in the ties above, will play the first leg at home.
Arsenal remain the only English club to have lifted the trophy, winning in 2007 when it was then known as the UEFA Women’s Cup.
Chelsea came close in 2021 as runners-up and narrowly missed last year’s final, falling to Barcelona in the semis after a 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge, despite a 1-0 first-leg victory in Spain.
For Manchester City, this marks a return to the knockout stages for the first time since 2021 and the two-time semi-finalists will be need to overcome Chelsea, who are unbeaten all season, in the next round.
The semi-final draw has also been confirmed, with the winner of Wolfsburg vs. Barcelona facing the victor of Manchester City vs. Chelsea, while Real Madrid or Arsenal will go up against Bayern Munich or Lyon.
The two legs of the semi-finals will take place on 19/20 and 26/27 April, while the final will be on 24 May at the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon.
