Inter Women have beaten Parma 5-2 in the last-16 of Coppa Italia after a competitive match filled with drama and one that could only be finished after extra time. After going ahead in the first half through Bugeja's goal, the home side mounted a quick comeback, making it 2-1 in the Second Half. With Cambiaghi's goal, Inter found the equaliser and then in additional time, good goals from Karchouni, Magull and Cambiaghi again secured Inter's passage onwards.
Opening periods of the match were not eventful, with both sides trying to figure each other out. First shot came in the eleventh minute, Karchouni tried from distance but the attempt was off target. In the 14th minute, Diaz hit the bar from 20 metres out. The wide player tried again in the 30th minute, but her shot went over. Inter broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute, a defensive error from Para allowed Bugeja to launch a counter attack, making the most of the good chance and slotting past Fierro. The Nerazzurre continued leading 1-0 into the break, thanks to the goal from the maltese international.
In the second half, Inter aimed to maintain control of their lead. In the 50th minute, the home team attempted to pull one back through Rabot with a left footed shot from the edge of the area. Nerazzurre maintained control, without running too many risks until the 67th minute when Kajzba's effort went just wide. The game changed in the 68th and 69th minute: Cambiaghi'a effort was miraculously saved by Fierro. Just a minute later, Cambiaghi hit the bar, failing to make it 2-0. Inter nearly scored again in the 71st minute through Wullaert, who found herself one on one with the keeper, but Fierro denied us again. The Nerazzurre's best spell of the game was disrupted as Kajzba capitalised on an error, then entering the area and scoring to make it 1-1. It only took two more minutes for the game to turn completely on its head: Rognoni surprised Inter with a counter attack and played in Rúnarsdóttir to make it 2-1. Inter refused to give up and, in the 79th minute, found the equaliser with a perfectly delivered corner by Magull, which Cambiaghi met with a header to find the back of the net and send the match into extra time.
Inter remained determined to secure the win. In the 101st minute, Karchouni produced a stunning goal. Her curled left-footed strike caught Fierro off guard, putting the Nerazzurre back in front. Riding the wave of momentum, Magull added a fourth for Inter in the 107th minute with a powerful left-footed shot, sealing the result. The fifth goal came from Cambiaghi, who scored her second of the match from close range.
