Wolves head to Chelsea in the Premier League on Monday night looking to move clear of the bottom three.
Vitor Pereira’s team sit just outside the relegation places with only goal difference separating them from 18th-placed Ipswich Town. Heavy defeats to Nottingham Forest and Newcastle have dampened the mood at Wolves, who are battling to survive this season.
However, the visitors can take heart from last season’s win at Chelsea. Matheus Cunha scored a hat-trick on their last visit to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea also enter the contest in unconvincing form. Enzo Mareca’s side have failed to win in five Premier League games following a midweek draw with Bournemouth. Their dip has seen Chelsea drop to sixth, though a win this evening will take the Blues back into the Champions League places.
Vitor Pereira is hopeful that leading scorer Matheus Cunha will be available after illness. The Brazilian is expected to take his place this evening.
Andre and Joao Gomes should continue in partnership in midfield, with Boubacar Traore unavailable. The Malian midfielder is one of several absentees for Wolves, alongside Toti Gomes, Yerson Mosquera, Enso Gonzalez and Sasa Kalajdzic.
Wolves predicted XI: Sa; Doherty, Bueno, Agbadou; R Gomes, Andre, J Gomes, Ait-Nouri; Hwang, Cunha; Larsen.
Chelsea host Wolves in the Premier League on Monday 20th January 2025. Kick-off at Stamford Bridge is 20:00 GMT.
Chelsea vs Wolves will be shown on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Go UK, NOW UK, Sky Sports Ultra and Sky Sports+.
